Feathers and Triangles, A Giveaway

As I mentioned in my last post, I had a birthday a few days ago and I’ve decided to mark the occasion with a Giveaway!  Yay!  I’ve been on a bit of a feather and triangle kick lately, (I know, I know, how very trendy of me.)  So, I thought for this Giveaway I would do a winner’s choice of either a Petite Triangle Necklace or a Woodland Feather Ring.  Both of these are new pieces from my Petite Collection, (my simple everyday jewelry collection.)  You can check them out in the pics that follow.

Here’s the skinny on the Giveaway;  to be entered, just post a comment here and tell me your favorite book, or your favorite movie, or your favorite recipe.  It’s one entry per person and the winner will be selected via an automatic number generator thingy.  The winner will be announced here on my blog and will get to choose either a custom sized Feather ring or a custom Triangle necklace, (you choose your chain length.)  Since these are both pieces that will require making, please allow about 1.5 weeks for me to get it made and in the mail!  The Giveaway starts now and runs for 1 week.

The triangle necklace is constructed from sterling silver and hangs from a sterling chain.  Half the triangle has a shiny finish and half is oxidized black.  The black portion is sealed with wax.

The feather on the ring is constructed from sterling sheet silver and is oxidized black and sealed with wax.  The band is constructed from round Argentium wire and has a shiny finish.

Lovely work — I’ve always found the combination of oxidized and shiny silver rather striking (yet still simple). John McPhee is my favorite author; among his many wonderful non-fiction pieces, my favorite is “Coming Into the Country”, a collection of portraits of the people and wilderness of Alaska, as it was in the early ’70s.

“Favorite movie: Father Goose starring Gary Grant.
It would be so fun to win one of your one of a kind pieces of jewelry. I worked with your sweet fun Mom at Los Alamos and she has told me for a long time what a talented gal you are and she is RIGHT! Your jewelry pieces are so original and beautiful. Santa Fe artisans…look out. Can hardly wait to make your granola…sounds so yummy. “
